The Bottom Line

The B.Y.O.G. - Bring Your Own Gown is a new take on the typical hospital gown. With attractive mother-friendly patterns and complete access for birth, this makes a great addition to your hospital bag.

Description

  • There is a detachable, optional coordinating ribbon belt.
  • There are nine various patterns for your gown options.

  • There is nothing babyish about the patterns, they are stylish and more for mom than baby.
  • Makes a thoughtful baby shower gift.

Guide Review - B.Y.O.G. - Bring Your Own Gown

The B.Y.O.G. - Bring Your Own Gown is very stylish for a hospital gown. It's intention is to give you some freedom over your labor and delivery fashion as well as keep you covered in all the right spots. Improvements over the typical hospital gown include:

  • Attractive scoop neck line
  • Sleeves are stylishly cut
  • It's roomy, without being too big
  • Snaps down back go far enough to actually cover you
  • Snaps are not difficult to do or undo

The cotton fabric is really soft and does get softer the more frequently you wash it, so do wash it before wearing. I even like to use it turn around, technically, backwards, like a robe. This also allows you access to unbuttoning upwards to breastfeed discreetly. Breastfeeding this was is much easier than the side snaps, in my opinion. This is the one hospital gown replacement that actually can be altered comfortably to do this. So, while there are significant improvements over a typical hospital gown, enough so that having one is a good thing, I'm still waiting for better breastfeeding access.

The B.Y.O.G. - Bring Your Own Gown also offers the requisite snaps to make the nurses, midwives and doctors happy. You have access for items like IV fluids, epidurals and it can even be worn, if the hospital allows, during a c-section. And postpartum it's great for those immediate pictures of your new family.
