Guide Review - Pregnancy To Do's
The spiral binding is very nice, but because the book is long but not wide, it doesn't fit well in many purses and makes it awkward to carry in your computer bag or briefcase. They also include a nice, sturdy pocket in back for notes, scraps of paper and even receipts.
The book flirts with being all-inclusive. It mentions that you might pick a midwife, but every other location it says doctor - doctor's appointments, questions for your doctor, etc. The generic use of the word practitioner or care provider may have alleviated that issue all together.
My favorite list was the list for interviewing hospitals, birth centers and looking into home birth. In addition to basic information it has a small space for pros and cons. Unfortunately it is listed in the second trimester, it would probably have been better placed in the first trimester since who you choose as your practitioner is largely related to where you will give birth.
I really wish the prenatal care, or "doctor's appointments" would have either had a section of their own or been removed from the first trimester where they are all together.
This book is a nice jumping off point and great for list makers. But don't expect it to be as portable as it could be.
