Peanut Butter and Pregnancy

Should you avoid peanut butter while pregnant?

By Robin Elise Weiss, LCCE, About.com

With peanut allergies on the rise, there are some very small studies that show pregnant women who consume peanut butter more than once a week and who introduce peanut butter into their baby's diet early actually increase the risk of this potentially dangerous allergy. This actually occurred in women with no family history or allergy. If you or a family member have food allergies, you may wish to discuss your dietary habits with your allergist.
