Aurora Lynn's Birth

The night before Aurora was born Relis worked the closing shift. So, of course I waited up for him. He got home and we cuddled in bed and watched some TV. Scott had gotten home from Heathers that night and kept waking up crying in his sleep. At about 3am we finally got settled in for the night. At about 5:15 I woke up having to go to the bathroom. I laid in bed for a little bit because she was moving around. (I love that feeling!!!) At about 5:30 I sat up and scooted to the end of the bed. Just as I was about to get up I felt this POP! Then a gush and I thought "Gosh that feels weird!" Stood up and dribble dribble. Then I yelled at Relis "MY WATER BROKE!!! and I'm sure this time. If it didn't I peed the bed." or something like that. Relis got up. He cleaned up the bed and floor while I went to the bathroom. Got back to the room and another large gush. Again Relis cleaned it up. I quick finished packing my bag. Called Relis's sister to tell her Scott was on his way over. Relis walked Scott over while I told his parents. got in the car and took off. I have never seen Relis's little car go that fast!!! He did 60 on the dirt road and somewhere around 85 on the paved road! We got to town in less then 10 minutes.

Get to the hospital. Sign the papers. get up to the room. Go into the bathroom to get in the gown and there was another gush! Nurse got to clean it up this time. They hooked me up to the monitor. No contractions. By 9am still no contractions. Doctor comes in does a check I'm at 3cms and 90% effaced. He says if I'm not to 4 by noon I get Pitocin. Darn!!! 10am comes CONTRACTIONS hit! They weren't bad and I stood in the shower for 2 hours. Relis mother comes up to the room just to talk about the tractor! I was pissed!! what did the tractor have to do with me in labor! Grumble, bad word!

Noon comes around. Doctor is back and checks. No progress. So, I get an IV with pitocin in it. My contractions got really bad by 1pm. By 1:30 I was asking for an epidural. They said ok but we have to wait 30 minutes incase you change your mind. (grumble grumble!) 2pm they come in ask and I yell YES!!!!!

At this point I was having heavy back labor. They checked and I was 6cms. The guy comes in at 220pm gets it in at about 230pm. Oh it was heaven! 10 minutes later the nurse checks again I was 9cms. 3 minutes later I wanted to push! She checks and says yes. I pushed for 10 minutes then the doctor came in. He's pushing on something down there and I told him to stop it!!! It hurt! He said ok but it will take longer! My reaction JUST DON'T DO IT!!! On the next push I felt the burning! Then her head came out!!! Relis watched. I felt! they told me to stop pushing so the doctor could suction her mouth and nose. To hell with them! I couldn't help it! Push! Out popped her shoulders and the rest of her!!!!! Relis cut the cord! Then the doctor out her on my chest. That is the most wonderful feeling in the world. the moment when they placed her on me! I cried and Relis cried! They let her sit for a minute or so then took her over to get all the stuff they do done.

I tore a little and needed 2 stitches. Relis made the joke about paying the doctor $10 for an extra stitch! HAHA (Ya Right!) Auroras apgars where 9 & 10. She has a head full of light brown hair and she has slate blue eyes. Relis's fingers and my toes! We both think shes taking after my side of the family. (thank god!) She is the most beautiful baby I've ever seen! But then again shes mine!
