Victoria's Birth

I just would like to share my experience with Pitocin and the birth of my 1st child. It was so bad. My water broke around 11:00pm on March 6th 1998. I called my doctor and I had to convince him to let me come into the hospital. I was there all night. No progress. only at 2 cen. only very small contractions. I decided to go ahead and have the pitocin drip. It took several hours for anything to start. Finally, I couldn't handle the pain of them. They were so hard and fast. One on top of the next. No rest in between. I finally asked for some pain med. They gave me demoral. It didn't even phase me. I asked for something else. I was given statol. That almost totally knocked me out. Also, they didn't check me before giving it. I was already at 10 cen. and starting to push. I hardly remember anything after the statol. Sweet Victoria was born at 11:00pm on March 7th 1998. It had also gotten into her system and she wasn't crying for 3 min. I will NEVER have Pitocin again. I hope other mother and mothers- to -be can hear my story and realize it isn't the best thing to do. Let nature take it's own time.
